TOWN BOARD MEETING
APRIL 14, 2010
Being properly noticed, the monthly meeting of the Clam Falls town board was called to order by Chairman Greg Anderson. All board members present along with the clerk, treasurer and 15 members of the community.
Minutes of the March town board meeting were read. Greg Anderson motioned to approve; second Robert Carlson; carried.
The treasurer’s report was given. There is $34,700.41 in the checking account, $145,556.45 in the savings account, a highway aid check in the amount of $22,918.38 and $96,747.62 in the property tax account for total funds of $299,922.86. Checks are written through #8819. Robert Carlson motioned to approve the report; second Brad Olson; carried.
Robert Carlson reported that work is continuing on the Godfrey Lake Dam Emergency Action Plan.
There was discussion of the variance request at 1125 Clam Falls Drive. The Comprehensive Land Use Committee requested that, after they met with the applicant, the board withdraw the objection that was based on lack of information. Brad Olson so motioned; second Robert Carlson; carried.
Lee Cartier reported that the truck is at McKenzie for installation of the wing. Road weight limits have been removed. Streets and intersections have been swept. Trees have been cut on 73rd and 80th and brushing and chipping is progressing. Paving is required on some areas of 78th and 315th. Lee will prepare information and provide it to the clerk to request bids for repaving those areas, for chip seal on Clam Falls Drive, and for crack seal on 65th. Lee will also check on ditch issues on 353rd. Replacement of the bridge near 80th St will require a survey with the cost estimated to be $1,960. Greg Anderson motioned that the expenditure be approved; second Robert Carlson; carried.
Greg Anderson motioned that a letter be sent to Polk County Zoning outlining the township expectations regarding handling of variances, special use, and special exception; second Robert Carlson; carried.
Pat Rawlings was present regarding issues of dumping near his property on Boone Road. Lee will place “no dumping” signage.
Brad Olson will be the town representative for the rewrite of Polk County Zoning.
Robert Carlson and Lee Cartier will attend the highway workshop being held at Turtleback in Rice Lake on April 20, 2010.
Bills were paid and correspondence was handled.
