TOWN OF CLAM FALLS
MONTHLY BOARD MEETING
Town Hall – 7 p.m.
April 8, 2015


Being properly noticed, the monthly meeting of the Clam Falls town board was called to order by Chairman Greg Anderson. All board members were present, along with the treasurer, clerk, deputy clerk and several members of the community.

MINUTES:
The minutes of the March monthly town board meeting were read. Robert Carlson motioned to approve; second Brad Olson; carried. The minutes of the March 21st special meeting were read. Brad Olson motioned to approve; second Greg Anderson; carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT:
The treasurer report was given and there was $76,971.52 in the savings account, $118,770.97 in the property tax account, and $38932.11 in the checking account, for total available funds of $234,674.60. Checks were written through #10401. Robert Carlson motioned to approve the treasurer’s report; second Brad Olson; carried. The treasurer had also received a letter from Arnell Animal Shelter in Amery and after a brief discussion it was decided that she should just keep it on file.

OLD BUSINESS:
Godfrey Lake Dam Emergency Action Plan. The clerk now has the guide and template for writing emergency action plans. There was discussion as to where the information about the dam is currently at and also Ann stated that Burnett County just recently received approval on an EAP they prepared for a dam that is also a low-risk and she would get me copies of their EAP for us to use as a reference.

The Driveway Ordinance and Driveway Permit Application were presented and reviewed. Greg motioned to adopt the Driveway Ordinance and Permit Application, effective the date posted, following the proper posting statues. The clerk will see that it is posted and also published in the paper. It will also be added to the Town website.

There was brief discussion regarding the jury trial in regards to the McKenzie Trail DNR citation. The board will be attending the status hearing on 05/01/2015. The board reviewed the letter of 4/09/15 that was mailed to the District Attorney along with the Department of Natural Resources. This will remain on the agenda for the May meeting.

ROAD REPORT/ROAD CONDITIONS:
David Schmidt was present and gave the road report. He stated most seem to be in good shape other than some potholes on Clam Falls Drive that need patching and a few roads, 80th and 120th that are soft. There was discussion of the roadwork jobs that are to be published for bid collection. There will be 4 different areas, 3 that will need crack seal bids and 1 chip seal bid. There was also discussion of the ditch disk we received a price quote and information on from Diamond Mowers. Brad Olson motioned to purchase a ditch disk from Diamond Mowers in the price range of $5900 to $7000.00 (with $7000.00 being the price cap); second Greg Anderson; carried.


NEW BUSINESS:
The date for the Annual Meeting was discussed and will be held Wednesday 4/22/15 at 7 p.m. at the town hall.

Bills were paid and checks signed.

Other correspondence included letters from our State Senator and Representative thanking us for sending them copies of our Property Assessment Resolution and also correspondence from the Wisconsin Towns Association announcing workshops being offered for new clerks. Greg motioned for Jane to sign up and attend a 1-day workshop on June 2 at WITC Rice Lake with a cost of $65.00; second Brad, carried.

Brad Olson motioned to adjourn the meeting; second Greg Anderson; carried.
