Being properly noticed, the monthly meeting of the Clam Falls town board was called to order by chairman Greg Anderson. All board members attended along with the treasurer, the clerk, and several members of the community

Minutes of the July town board meeting were read; Brad Olson motioned to approve; second Robert Carlson; carried.

The treasurer report was given. There is $49,232.34 in the checking account, $46,130.80 in the tax collection account, and $146,703.15 in the savings account, for total available funds of $242,066.29. Checks are written through #9268. Greg Anderson motioned to approve; second Brad Olson; carried.

The treasurer requested permission to attend WTA training in Cable. Robert Carlson motioned to approve; second Brad Olson; carried.

The comprehensive land use committee met August 2. Two new potential committee members attended. The committee needs more members and is asking for more participation from township residents. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month.

After lengthy discussion addressing the pros and cons of a four-wheeler trail through the township, Greg Anderson motioned to approve an ordinance to allow certain roads to be open to ATVs; second Brad Olson; carried. The clerk will finalize the ordinance when a list of roads is provided by Keith Schmidt. The ordinance will be published after board signatures have been acquired. Trails will be able to be opened 15 days after publication.

Lee Cartier reported that he has been doing ditch work on 85th Street and working to re-establish vegetation. Culverts for replacement of the bridge on 320th are scheduled to arrive in about two weeks. A 36” culvert was installed on 73rd Street. He has also been grading and fixing washouts. There was also discussion of road issues such as a portion of 65th Street breaking up, 80th Street needing gravel on the hill, and a patch at Cherry Street and Co. Rd. I in Clam Falls; no action was taken on these issues. Robert Carlson motioned to authorize the purchase of up to $6,000 gravel; second Brad Olson; carried.

The clerk is to publish a notice of a $500 reward for road cones stolen from Clam Falls township roads.

Bills were paid and correspondence was handled.

Greg Anderson motioned to adjourn the meeting; second Brad Olson; carried.
