TOWN OF CLAM FALLS
MONTHLY BOARD MEETING
December 11, 2013
Being properly noticed, the monthly meeting of the Clam Falls town board was called to order by Supervisor Brad Olson. All board members were present, along with the treasurer, clerk, Debra Weiss from Meagher & Geer, Carl Thromforda from Rural Insurance, and several members of the community.
Minutes of the November board meeting were read; Robert Carlson motioned to approve; second Brad Olson; carried.
The treasurer’s report was given. There is $116,940.42 in the savings account, $1,193.16 in the tax collection account; and a negative balance of $27,688.76 in the checking account for total available funds are $90,444.82. Checks are written through 10045. Brad Olson motioned to transfer $40,000 from the savings account to the checking account; second Robert Carlson; carried. Brad Olson motioned to approve the treasurer’s report; second Robert Carlson; carried.
With regard to reclassification of Godfrey Lake Dam, Brad Olson provided the clerk with information necessary write a letter to Madison regarding reclassification.
Debra Weiss, Meagher & Geer was present with David Anderson with regard to a salvage yard license for the former Burton property. The board stated that fencing would be required and inquired about hours of operation. The board also stated that the county has the final decision as to whether the license will be granted.
Carl Thromforda from Rural Insurance was present to review the town’s insurance policy. He suggested increasing the deductible and several other changes that would reduce the policy premium. Robert Carlson motioned to institute the changes; second Greg Anderson; carried.
Lee Cartier reported that gravel was delivered from Burnett County for 65th St. shouldering. The shoulding is nearly complete and will be finished in the spring. McKenzie Trail is opened for the winter. The dump truck seems to be lacking power; he will try Eau Claire to have repairs done. Greg Anderson signed the purchasing agreement required by Polk County.
William Johnson stated that he is running for supervisor in our district and asked for support.
Greg Anderson motioned to appoint Perry Karl, Vicky Olson, Mary Boisvert, Jean Hill, Carol Tabat and Judy Domagala as election inspectors for the next two years; second Brad Olson; carried.
Bills were paid and correspondence was handled.
Robert Carlson motioned to adjourn; second Brad Olson; carried.
