TOWN BOARD MEETING
FEBRUARY 8, 2012

Being properly noticed, the monthly meeting of the Clam Falls town board was called to order by Chairman Greg Anderson. All board members were present, along with the treasurer, the clerk, and several members of the community

Minutes of the January town board meeting were read; Brad Olson motioned to approve; second Robert Carlson; carried.

The treasurer report was given. There is $41,495.61 in the checking account, $313,079.75 in the tax collection account, deposits of $123,779.38 to be made to the tax collection account; and $116,840.10in the savings account, for total available funds of $595,194.85. Checks are written through #9418. Greg Anderson motioned to approve; second Robert Carlson; carried.

Robert Carlson motioned to accept the proposal from Ayers and Associates in the amount of $2,000 for the Godfrey Lake dam inspection which is required by the DNR; second Brad Olson; carried.

The comprehensive land use committee met February 6. Discussion of the six members was centered on zoning models. It was pointed out that if the town should choose to pull out of county zoning upon revision of the county zoning ordinance we would still be subject to the county shoreline ordinances. There was also discussion of mailbox and driveway ordinances and discussion of frac-sand mining.

After discussion of opening town roads to ATVs, Robert Carlson motioned that the issue should be placed on a referendum; second Brad Olson; carried.

Lee Cartier reported that he has been working on brush mowing and removing trees in the ditches and sanding roads. The pressure washer was received. Balsam Lake does not plan to crush gravel this year. Lee will talk to the county about bringing in salt. A culvert on 353rd appears to be block; Lee will investigate. He will check the dam; there is brush below the dam that needs to be trimmed.

A representative from Swenson Surveying was present regarding a lot division on the Darrell Schjenken property. After discussion Greg Anderson motioned to approve; second Brad Olson; carried.

Alvin Greener was present requesting that the board vacate the unused, undeveloped Mitchell Avenue in Clam Falls that runs adjacent to his property. After discussion Brad Olson motioned to vacate the street; second Robert Carlson; carried.

Bills were paid and correspondence was handled.

Greg Anderson motioned to adjourn the meeting; second Brad Olson; carried.
