JANUARY 6, 2010

Being properly noticed, the monthly meeting of the Clam Falls town board was called to order by chairman Greg Anderson. All board members were present along with several members of the community and Raeann Allen from North Land Ambulance.

Minutes of the December 2009 town board meeting were read; Robert Carlson motioned to approve; second Brad Olson; carried.

The treasurer’s report wa given. There is $54,693.65 in the checking account; a highway aid payment in the amount of $22,918l.38 to be deposited; $1,178.77 in the real estate tax account; and $145,156.79 in the savings account for total available funds of $223,947.56. Checks are written through #8706. Brad Olson motioned to approve; second Greg Anderson; carried

Robert Carlson has received a portion of the information needed for the Godfrey Lake
Dam Emergency Action Plan.

The clerk reported that the town website is up and running; however, time is required to add content.

Chief inspector training will take place January 25, 2010, at the clerk’s home. Training materials are being provided by the county clerk.

The clerk reminded the board of the Wisconsin Towns Association meeting that will be held Saturday, February 6, 2010, in Cumberland.

An update on the Bradley Ayers appeal was provided. The appeal was denied by the court and sanctions were ordered.

Raeann Allen from North Land Ambulance reported that Trade Lake has been added to their service area. They will be replacing the Frederic rig, which is ten years old, at a $110,000 base price. The coverage area is 326 square miles in 11 townships.

Lee Cartier reported that he has been sanding icy roads. The carbide blades are working well. There was discussion of placing and replacing curve signs on Clam Falls Drive and various ‘stop ahead’ signs. Lee will report at the next meeting which roads need ditching. He will write specifications for a wing for the truck for the clerk, who will place an ad for bids. Both Keith Schmidt and Lee Cartier are to attend MSHA training.

Lee Cartier will receive one week of vacation; one week of sick leave after one year; and seven holidays (New Years, Good Friday, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas).

Bills were paid and correspondence was handled.
