TOWN OF CLAM FALLS
MONTHLY BOARD MEETING
March 11, 2015


Being properly noticed, the monthly meeting of the Clam Falls town board was called to order by Chairman Greg Anderson. All board members were present, along with the treasurer, clerk, deputy clerk and several members of the community.

MINUTES:
The minutes of the February monthly town board meeting were read. Greg Anderson motioned to approve; second Robert Carlson; carried. The minutes of the February 27 special meeting were read. Greg Anderson motioned to approve; second Brad Olson; carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT:
The treasurer report was given and there was $76,969.56 in the savings account, $118,767.95 in the property tax account, and $61,884.76 in the checking account, for total available funds of $257,622.27. This month’s report includes the outstanding deposits that were not shown on the February’s Treasurer’s report. Checks were written through #10373. Brad Olson motioned to approve the treasurer’s report; second Robert Carlson; carried.

OLD BUSINESS:
Godfrey Lake Dam Emergency Action Plan; no action.

There was brief review of samples and discussion of the driveway ordinance and driveway permit application form. Drafts will be prepared and presented at the April meeting.

There was brief discussion regarding the jury trial in regards to the McKenzie Trail DNR citation. A letter will be written and sent to the judge in regards to the clarification as to the township not attending the trial and clarification of next steps. This topic will remain on the agenda for the April meeting.

ROAD REPORT/ROAD CONDITIONS:
David Schmidt was present and gave the road report. Most seem to be in good shape other than some potholes on Clam Falls Drive. There is a sign down at the intersection of 80th and W. There was also discussion of the possibility of removing the stop sign at the intersection 80th and 320th. However, after discussion it was decided best for the stop sign to remain as is. There was also discussion of the need for a ditch disk and David was advised to speak to Diamond Mowers and get a bid. Also, we will need to sweep this year and there is a need for a new brush. They run $680.00 for an 8’ brush. Greg Anderson motioned for the Town to purchase a new 8’ brush at $680.00; second Brad Olson; carried.

NEW BUSINESS:
The annual Road Review was discussed and planned and will be Saturday, March 21st, meet at the Town Shop at 8 a.m.

There was discussion of the resolution opposing proposed county assessment, one of the Governor’s proposed budget items which would move property assessment responsibility from local municipalities to county government. After review, Greg Anderson motioned to approve the resolution opposing proposed property assessment responsibility moving from local level to county level; second Robert Carlson; carried and the resolution was signed.

Bills were paid and any other remaining correspondence handled.

Brad Olson motioned to adjourn the meeting; second Greg Anderson; carried.
