TOWN OF CLAM FALLS
MONTHLY BOARD MEETING
March 12, 2014

Being properly noticed, the monthly meeting of the Clam Falls town board was called to order by Chairman Greg Anderson. All board members were present, along with the clerk; Kevin Morgan and Rhonda Kenyon from the DNR; William Johnson, and several members of the community.

Minutes of the February board meeting were read; Brad Olson motioned to approve; second Greg Anderson; carried.

The treasurer’s report was given. There is $76,944.70 in the savings account, $85,991.36 in the tax collection account; and $9,037.61 in the checking account for total available funds of $171,975.45. Checks are written through 10123. Robert Carlson motioned to approve the treasurer’s report; second Brad Olson; carried.

The clerk reported that correspondence has been received stating that Godfrey Lake Dam has been reclassified as low hazard, and that the next inspection is due in 2022.

Kevin Morgan and Rhonda Kenyon from the DNR were present regarding the McKenzie Trail improvement. Kenyon stated that the town exceeded the right of way and would be required to pay a $500 application fee for easement on the road. They were also concerned that somebody profited from sale of the trees that were removed during the improvement project. The board stated that not only had nobody profited from sale of the trees, but that the contractor paid to have the trees removed from the site. The DNR representatives asked for proof that the payment occurred.

Lee reported that Northwestern Electric is rerouting electric lines on 115th. There was discussion of road restrictions and of a possible overlay on 115th which will be looked at during road review. Lee also reported that snowmobiles have been tearing up the matting that was placed for erosion on McKenzie Trail.

The clerk was directed to compose an ordinance for the appointed clerk to be a member of the board of review.

Bills were paid and correspondence was handled.

Robert Carlson motioned to adjourn to closed session per Wisc. Statute 19.75(1)(c) to consider re-appointment of the treasurer and clerk; second Robert Carlson; carried.
