TOWN BOARD MEETING
May 12, 2010

Being properly noticed, the monthly meeting of the Clam Falls town board was called to order by Chairman Greg Anderson. All board members present along with the clerk, treasurer, several contractors and members of the community.

Minutes of the April town board meeting were read. Greg Anderson motioned to approve; second Brad Olson; carried.

The treasurer’s report was given. There is $40,824.96 in the checking account, $145,652.16 in the savings account and $96,811.23 in the property tax account for total funds of $283,288.35. Checks are written through #8826. Robert Carlson motioned to approve the report; second Greg Anderson; carried.

Robert Carlson reported that work will continue on the Godfrey Lake Dam Emergency Action Plan.

Perry Karl reported that the Comprehensive Land Use Committee is continuing to work with zoning and on ordinances for implementation of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan.

Bids were opened for loading and hauling approximately 6000 tons of road gravel from 3151 Co. Rd. I in Clam Falls to multiple locations within the township, crack sealing 90th St and Clam Falls Drive; and pulverizing. Bids were as follows:

Lee Cartier reported that the “no dumping” signs have been placed at the old dump site. The past month has been spend brushing, attempting to control the beaver problem on Clam Falls Drive and meeting with bidders. There was discussion of patching needed on Clam Falls Drive prior to chip seal. The cost would be approximately $760.00. Robert Carlson motioned to approve the expenditure; second Brad Olson; carried.

Greg Anderson motioned to approve an operator’s license for David Brandt, Lewis Hideaway; second Robert Carlson; carried.

Brad Olson will contact various suppliers to determine the lowest propane prepay cost and notify the clerk. Greg Anderson motioned to accept the lowest price; second Robert Carlson; carried.

Greg Anderson motioned to accept the bid for pulverizing from Monarch Paving Company in the amount of $8,301.83; second Brad Olson; carried.

A special meeting will be posted for 8 p.m., May 17, 2010, at the town hall, for the purpose of awarding bids for chip seal and gravel hauling and loading.

Bills were paid and correspondence was handled.
