OCTOBER 13, 2010

Being properly noticed, the monthly meeting of the Clam Falls town board was called to order by Supervisor Robert Carlson. Present were Robert Carlsonk Brad Olson, the treasurer, clerk, Lee Cartier, and several members of the community. Chairman Greg Anderson arrived during the treasurerís report.

Minutes of the September meeting were read. Brad Olson motioned to approve; second Robert Carlson; carried.

The treasurer report was given. There is $15,074.17 in the checking account; $146,124.84 in the savings account, October highway aids funds of $22918.41 to be deposited, and $1,082.66 in the real estate tax account, for total available funds of $185,200.08. Checks are written through #8970. Robert Carlson motioned to approve; second Brad Olson; carried.

Greg Anderson read an article from the DNR Dam Safety Newsletter. The Dam Emergency Action Plan is required to be completed within the next ten years. The DNR will provide information on how to inspect the dam. No additional action was taken.

Perry Karl reported that the Comprehensive Land Use Committee invited Jim Ault, St. Croix County Zoning Administrator, to their meeting on October 12. Brad Olson is on the committee that is revising the Polk County zoning ordinance. The Comprehensive Land Use Committee feels strongly that Clam Falls should seriously consider leaving county zoning following the countyís ordinance revision. The town plans to integrate the decision into the annual town meeting to allow all township property owners to participate in the decision making process.

Two bids were received on the old town dump truck. Both bids were below $5,000. Robert Carlson motioned to reject the bids; second Brad Olson; carried. The clerk is to check on-line options for the sale.

Lee Cartier reported that ditching work on 100th is complete for now; however additional work will be required in the future. Application for bridge replacement permit from the DNR has been submitted. Lee contacted Monarch about the hole in the new blacktop on 315th; they will subcut the area and redo that portion this week. A patch that Farhner completed on 90th Wt. will be redone to take care of the poor transition. Striping on Clam Falls Drive is complete. Patching is required on 65th St. The clerk is to bill Clam Falls Campground $80 that the town paid to Alden Excavating for repair to the road due to their broken water line. Greg Anderson motioned to have gravel hauled on 315th off of I in an amount not to exceed $3,000.00; second Robert Carlson; carried. Shouldering on 75th and 120th is complete.

Bills were paid and correspondence was handled.
