TOWN OF CLAM FALLS
MONTHLY BOARD MEETING
OCTOBER 8, 2014

Being properly noticed, the monthly meeting of the Clam Falls town board was called to order by Chairman Greg Anderson. All board members were present, along with the treasurer, the clerk and several members of the community.

Minutes of the September town board meeting were read Robert Carlson motioned to approve; second Brad Olson; carried.

The treasurer report was given. There is $89,539.84 in the checking account, $76,005.58 in the tax collection account, and $76,960.01 in the savings account, for total available funds of $242,505.43. Checks are written through #10258. Brad Olson motioned to transfer $20,000.00 from the tax collection account to the checking account; second Greg Anderson; carried Robert Carlson motioned to approve; second Brad Olson; carried. Robert Carlson motioned to approve the treasurer’s report as read; second Brad Olson.

No additional information has been received regarding McKenzie Trail. It will remain on the November agenda.

There was discussion regarding the application for a salvage permit on the former Burton property. There are several errors in the application; the person applying for the permit has not recorded the transfer of the property from the Burtons; and there is a salvage yard permit in place for the adjacent property. Greg Anderson motioned to reject the application; second Brad Olson; carried.

Brad Olson motioned to purchase the hazard light for placement at the intersection of 90th St. and 340th Ave.; second Robert Carlson; carried.

There was discussion regarding the future of the dam at the Clam Falls Flowage. The clerk is to draft a letter to Northwestern Electric stating that the town would like for the dam to remain, but it is not feasible for the town accept their offer to turn it over to the town.

David Schmidt reported that Godfrey Lake dam and the dump site have both been mowed. The report on road improvements has been completed, signed by the chairman, and will be mailed by the clerk. Shouldering on 115th is nearing completion. The patches on 65th and Clam Falls Drive have not been completed by Farhner; David is to contact them to determine when they will be done. He has also been working on eliminating the beaver at the town line on Clam Falls Drive. David will check the timer on the yard light at the shop to be sure it is set correctly.

Greg Anderson motioned to approve an operator’s license for Rose Houtari; second Brad Olson; carried.

Brad Olson talked about protocol regarding dissemination of certain town information before bringing it to the board.

Bills were paid and correspondence was handled.

Robert Carlson motioned to adjourn the meeting; second Brad Olson; carried.
